I usually try to stay away from cookware marketed under a celebrity name because you really don’t know what you’re getting yourself into and you don’t know whether the company is going to be around for the long haul but jamie oliver cookware may be different. Why is that? Because it’s produced by T-Fal which is a name we all know and have come to trust over the years.

Just Who Is Jamie Oliver?

Jamie Oliver is a famous chef from the United Kingdom (England) where he hosts the Naked Chef television show for the food network, among others. His cookware comes in a variety of product lines including the professional series of stainless steal and heavy gauge aluminum as well as anodized pieces that are dishwasher safe; and the Jamie Oliver at home series of cast aluminum pieces. He also produces the Jamie at home series which is made up of enameled cast-iron pieces.

Most of his professional series cookware sets are incredibly well priced, and his cast iron cookware won’t break the bank either. If you’re looking for a set of pots and pans and you don’t have a lot of money to spend, then these just may be just the pieces that you’re looking for.

On the other hand I still can’t get over the aversion that I have to celebrity endorsed cookware because I’ve been burned so many times before by so many other products. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of a popular television show and want to run out and buy their fancy looking cookware.

The problem is, these sets almost always look absolutely gorgeous but usually cook fairly terribly. They usually fall apart quickly or warp or rust, or get banged up easily or simply don’t heat up evenly and cook food poorly. I’m not really sure if that’s the case for Jamie’s stuff, I suspect they are a slightly higher quality because they’re backed by T-Fal but I’ve not used them myself so I can’t be sure.

Further, I’ve had a pretty hard time tracking down any customer reviews as well which leads me to believe it it might be the best idea to hold off on these products until they’re a little bit more established and there’s a little more data out there to tell us whether or not they are worth the money.

So my final analysis is to stay away from Jamie Oliver Cookware if you can help it. If you find a set that is incredibly cheap and you want to try it out, I would give them the benefit of the doubt… but keep your receipt! And e-mail me and let me know what your experiences is because I would love to be able to update this review. In the mean time, keep on cooking!
