Kitchen aid cookware are great pots and pans for nearly every kitchen, no matter how much you cook on a daily basis. For the pro and amateur alike; just about everyone can find something interesting in the kitchenaid collection.
What can you expect from these guys? The Kitchenaid collection can be crudely broken down into four categories or product lines:
- Gourmet Essentials
- Gourmet Distinctions
- Gourmet Reserved
- KitchenAid Cookware
Gourmet essentials contain sets made out of brushed stainless steel, hard-base aluminum, and hard anodized nonstick materials as well as different accessories for each of them. Gourmet distinctions offer double full base stainless steel sets with copper, 18/10 stainless steel, and aluminum mixtures that should last for many years to come. The gourmet reserved collection contains stainless steel sets, hard anodized sets, and hard base sets. Finally, the KitchenAid cookware line is made up of cast-iron pieces, which is a little weird.
To give you some ideas about the different options in price ranges amongst these different lines, I’d like to talk about three particular sets that are pretty popular. These include:
- KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials 12-Piece Nonstick Hard-Anodized Cookware Set
- KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set
- KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials 12-Piece Nonstick Hard Base Cookware Set
KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials 12-Piece Nonstick Hard-Anodized Cookware Set
At $165, this set contains a one, two, and three quart covered saucepan; an eight and a 10 inch skillet, 8 quart covered stockpot, and a 12 inch covered sauté pan. It’s made of heavy gauge hard anodized aluminum and has a scratch resistant nonstick surface. With 146 customer reviews, I give this a 95% A, or 4 out of 5 stars.
KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set
At $150 this is a slightly less popular set maybe because it only comes with 10 pieces that is roughly the same price as the 12 piece set. It contains a 1 1/4, to a half, and 3 1/2 quart covered saucepan; an 8 quart covered stockpot; and an 8 inch and 10 inch skillet all made of stainless steel construction with aluminum copper base core. The lids are tempered glass. At 38 customer ratings I give this one a 92% A-.
KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials 12-Piece Nonstick Hard Base Cookware Set
Finally this $150 snazzy red set is quite nice looking. It has the exact same pieces as the first set that we looked at but is made of heavy gauge aluminum with a nonstick interior and a porcelain enamel exterior. It comes with tight fitting 18/10 stainless steel lids which are slightly unusual. This set will definitely brighten up your kitchen well. Stylish is the word I would use to describe it. But with 83 customer reviews, I give this set an 89% B+ because many times, the more stylish the housewares look, the quicker they fall apart.
So you see, you have quite a range of options when it comes to Kitchen Aid Cookware products. For the price, you would be hard-pressed to find anything better on the market. If you’re willing to spend a little bit more money and are a little more concerned about the quality of your cooking, then you may want to look at a different brand. But if price is your main objective then KitchenAid is probably right for you.
