Mini loaf pans are great for making tiny little loaves of bread. Personally I think that if you’re going to go through all the trouble of making dough, then you should follow through with a full-size loaf of bread but some people like those cute little loaves and who am I to judge?

Today I’m going to talk about several different options you have when it comes to these funny little things. I’m going to talk about several different brands and the prices that you can expect to find for each of them so that you hopefully get a good idea of what’s available and a sense of the quality out there by way of reviews from past customers which I will aggregate for you.

Today I want talk about three main pans that you can choose from. These aren’t particularly specialized so talking about and reviewing three of them should give you a pretty good cross-section of what’s available. I’ll be looking at:

  • Chicago Metallic Professional Mini Loaf Pan, Set of 4
  • Wilton Aluminum 9-Cavity Petite Loaf Pan
  • Wilton Excelle Elite 4-Cup Mini Loaf Pan

Chicago Metallic Professional Mini Loaf Pan, Set of 4

At $11.50 this is an odd little set of pans. Most of the time when you talk about mini loaf pans, they are all connected in one big sheet, but not so with this one. You actually get 4 separate pans. That makes them a little bit awkward for many people. Besides that oddity, they work pretty well. Based on customer reviews I give them a 92% A-

Wilton Aluminum 9-Cavity Petite Loaf Pan

At $12 this is a nice nine cavity pan that is crafted from anodized aluminum that gives very even heat distribution and should last a very long time. It has smooth sides so that your bread should pop right out. It also has raised edges that help contain the batter and keep it from spilling out. I give it a solid 95% A.

Wilton Excelle Elite 4-Cup Mini Loaf Pan

Finally, at $22 this is a slightly higher quality pan. Made out of reinforced coating on durable steel, it has extra-wide side handles which are incredibly helpful and means you won’t need a cake pan gripper. It also comes with a 10 year warranty though I’m not sure exactly what could possibly go wrong! I give this cake pan a 95% A based on other customer reviews.

So there you have 3 different Mini Loaf Pans to choose from. This list really is representative of what you’re going to find out there and the price ranges that you will encounter. There’s really no reason to spend more than $20 on any of them so you should just find one that feels good in your hands and just go with it.
