Rachel Ray cookware is incredibly popular across the board and incredibly inexpensive too! But are these pots, pans, and skillets really all they’re cracked up to be? That’s what I’d like to talk about in this article today. I’ll also review three popular Rachel Ray sets and give you my thoughts on them and give you an idea of what you can expect to pay.

First off I’ve got to give a little bit of a disclaimer. I’m incredibly biased when it comes to celebrity cookware. I’ve just seen it so many times before when some chef from some popular TV show decides to make a little extra money by selling their own line of cookware. The same thing always happens, the stuff looks incredibly beautiful but when you use it for a little while it almost always quickly falls apart.

This stuff is usually highly rated by fans of the show who maybe don’t necessarily cook all that much but are happy to have bought the cookware and quick to rave about it. In my mind if you’re going to do a lot cooking, why not go with a brand of cookware that has stood the test of time and is backed up by a company you know will be there tomorrow?

With that said, today I’m going to take a look at these three cooking sets:

  • Rachael Ray 10-Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set
  • Rachael Ray 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set
  • Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Cookware Set

Rachael Ray 10-Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set

This is a nice looking set that contains a one and a half and a 3 quart covered saucepan, 6 quart covered stockpot, 3 quart 10 inch covered saute pan, and an 8 and 10 inch French skillet. It’s made of hard anodized aluminum that has a nonstick finish. The handles are made of silicone and are very soft to grip. The pans all come with glass lids as well. You’re going to need to hand wash the set so keep that in mind.

This is a massively well reviewed set. It has 236 5 out of 5 stars ratings, out of 290 reviews! That blows my mind! The few people who have given it a low rating have suggested that the nonstick coating begins to peel off after about 9 to 12 months. At only $150 for the entire set, I can see how this may be true!

Rachael Ray 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set

At $160, this is a very stylish and frankly very beautiful looking set that is very shiny and contains all the same pieces of the last set, the only difference is the satin finish stainless steel with aluminum bases that this set is made of. This one isn’t nearly as highly rated, in fact only 45 people have reviewed it at Amazon, I guess she didn’t promote it as hard on her TV show ;-)

Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Cookware Set

At $130 this is a funky looking set that’s chocolate colored and made out of aluminum exteriors with orange porcelain enameling. The set includes a 3 1/2 quart saucepan with lid and a 6 quart stock pot with lid as well, a 10 inch sauté pan with lid and an 8 and 10 inch skillet. The lids are all clear tempered glass and have top mounted handles. Only one person has reviewed this set at Amazon, and I’m not sure what to make of that.

So there you see the three main sets that are available. Apart from these sets she also offers a wide range of individual pieces, some of which are quite inexpensive and very highly rated by happy fans. Is Rachel Ray Cookware worth the money? Probably, at least for a year or two. But then again, they are incredibly cheap in price and you get what you pay for. Me, I’m going to stay away from the celebrity cookware myself and stick with the names I know and have come to trust over the years.
