When it comes to dinnerware you have a ton of options, but some people really like Sonoma Dinnerware and for a possibly good reason. Today I’m going to talk about some of the main choices you have in the Sonoma catalog, give you an idea of what you can expect to pay, and hopefully point you in the right direction so that you get the set that’s perfect for you and your kitchen.
Let’s face it, you can choose any dinnerware set in world to complement your dining experience. The set you choose is an extension of who you are and what you’re trying to say. It’s a very personal thing that’s going to be different for everybody.
Add to that the fact that you need different dishes for different occasions, formal, laid-back, every day, dinner party, etc. and it becomes obvious that picking the right set for you is a very important decision that everybody has to make themselves.
These aren’t just things we eat off of or use to cook with, dinner is an extension of family. The food we eat is not just food, remember that. But enough of the esoteric, let’s get to the dishes!
Sonoma offers a wide range of options including, but not limited to:
- Sonoma Celadon
- Sonoma Chocolate
- Sonoma Ivory
- Sonoma Olive
- Sonoma Red
- Sonoma Slate
- Sonoma Tan
- Sonoma Terra Cotta
- Sonoma Yellow
Whether you’re looking for an ice bowl, or a complete 16-piece stock set, Sonoma has you covered. From formal dinnerware to more laid back stoneware dinnerware, and everything in between; you can probably find the dinnerware set to fit the bill.
What about prices?
Sonoma dishes are a little more expensive then the lower end sets that are available and not quite as expensive as the high end sets. That makes them a fairly decent middle ground price range set.
What’s the bottom line?
But I’m going to level with you, this is a very strange group of dinnerware sets. It’s incredibly difficult to find any information on them at all. I’ve been searching around the Internet for the last hour and I can hardly track down a single set. If you go to the Williams-Sonoma website you can find them but look anywhere else and good luck!
What does this mean for you? In my opinion it means you should stay away from them. If I’m having trouble tracking down information about them on the Internet then chances are you’re going to have trouble finding replacement pieces over the years and that’s the number one complaint that people have about dinnerware, finding replacement pieces as dishes break over the years.
I may be completely wrong, they may be the greatest dishes since sliced bread. Wait, does that make any sense? It doesn’t matter because you know what I mean. There are tons of reviews and entire websites dedicated to dozens of different brands of dinnerware and dish sets out there. Why choose the one that’s virtually unknown? If it was up to me I would not buy this stuff and I recommend you don’t do it either. But then again, Sonoma Dinnerware may just be fantastic, who knows!
